UFC 240 1

The UFC Octagon made the trip to the Rogers Arena in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for UFC 240.

In the main event the world would finally have the chance to see Max Holloway and Frankie Edgar share the octagon. ‘Blessed’ put the featherweight belt on the line at UFC 240 and was not ready to lose it.

Although the fight went the distance, the belt was never at risk as Holloway remained in control of the fight over the course of 25 minutes.

The world was expecting Cris Cyborg to KO Felicia Spencer. However, the Canadian wasn’t going to let that happen. In fact, she can proudly say she gave Cyborg her first cut. In the end Cris dominated over the course of the three rounds and got the unanimous decision.

After a few fights that went to the judges’ scorecards, we finally got the first finish in the main card. In a very exciting brawl, Geoff Neal defeated Niko Price by TKO in the second round.

Almost at the end of the preliminaries, local fighter Hakeem Dawodu beat Yoshinori Horie with a brilliant head kick.

In an entertaining featherweight bout, Canadian Gavin Tucker submitted Seung Woo Choi in the third round.

The first finish of the night came by courtesy of Gillian Robertson. At only 24, the native Canadian put on another great performance and got her first victory by TKO. ‘Savage’ is now 4-1 in the UFC, with all of her wins by finish. It’s pretty safe to say she will make her debut in the UFC women’s flyweight rankings next week.
